About

The Foundations of R.I.D.E. Certificate Series is a comprehensive program for faculty, staff, and students designed for their involvement with realizing inclusion, diversity, and equity. Through six comprehensive workshops, participants will explore the principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion, establishing a strong educational foundation for their involvement with the R.I.D.E. framework. By completing the certificate series, individuals will acquire the knowledge, skills, and empathy needed to navigate diverse environments, promote equity, and champion inclusive practices. Empowered with this understanding, participants will be able to actively contribute to cultivating a more inclusive environment within the university community and beyond; embodying Wake Forest University’s commitment to inclusive excellence.

How it works

Participants will need to complete six core workshops to receive the certificate. After participants complete Workshop 1: Foundations of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, other workshops can be completed in any particular order. Workshops will be offered both in person and virtually.

Length to Completion: Participants can choose the pace with which they complete the workshops. Given that Workshop 1 is a prerequisite, it will be offered three times for both students and faculty/staff each semester, twice in person and once virtually. Workshops 2-4 will be offered in the fall twice (once virtually/ once in person), and Workshops 4-6 will be offered twice in the spring semester (once virtually/ once in person).
