Seeking the Best Ideas for the Best Wake Forest
In spring 2015, Wake Forest held a campus-wide competition to find and fund the freshest, most powerful, and student-centered ideas to help Wake Forest University live up to our ideal of a diverse and inclusive learning environment.
Students submitted new ideas for fostering an inclusive, positive campus climate in the spirit of WFU’s Pro Humanitate mission by coming up with innovative, actionable proposals.
Ideas were pitched to faculty and administrators and winning ideas received seed money to implement their proposals in Spring 2015.
How it Works
Undergraduate and graduate students may form teams of up to five members to pitch an actionable and new idea about how to foster an inclusive and positive campus climate at Wake Forest University. Teams will initially enter the competition by submitting an online application. Teams complete their submission by uploading a 60-90 second video pitching their idea.
Teams will have the opportunity to work with advisors throughout the competition. The top 10 submissions will be screened at an on-campus event, where the finalists will be determined.
Finalist teams will attend the final round of the competition, where they will pitch their ideas to “The Deacs” – a panel of faculty and administrators. “The Deacs” will ask each team questions about its proposal, and select the winners at the end of the event. Winning teams will receive seed money to implement their proposals over the course of the Spring semester.
How to Sign Up
Official submissions for Deac Tank are not being accepted at this time. However, you are welcome to share your ideas by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Best Ideas
